Fear! A normal human sensation that usually sparks towards something or a situation that we don’t feel at ease with and in extreme cases make us completely irrational. His intention here is to show two or more hidden fears and phobias. The obvious main objective would be that the viewers figure out what dreads are in the pictures. Although is more likely that they perceive something completely different from Hidalgo's main idea, which is serves as greater secondary goal that show us the freedom of thought and perception that photography has to offer us.
Trough the use of several analog photomontage techniques, this series project the idea of some fossilized prehistoric animals that have lived on Earth. In each photography, the texture of the rocky background resembles the layer of soil were each fossil was found.
These darkroom-made pictures show the fragility, delicacy, but above of all, the vitality and hope that flowers represent against practically death background such as a brick wall or an eroded soil. Naturally, this blending of elements may transmit a sense of melancholy about nature, love, among other feelings. All the flowers are named after important women (starting with his mother) who had a strong influence in my life in matters of affection, friendship, family values and most of all the unconditional love that they’d given me.
As a live witness of the horrors and dreadfulness that war brought to his country, at a very young age his perspective on life dramatically changed in that one must be prepared to use anything in his surroundings to defend himself and his loved ones. This series represent this idea by how he has handmade assembled various pieces of armament with peaceful daily life objects that metaphorically in one way or another in any situation can become deadly weapons.

When we travel to a foreign country, what is the primary physical tool that we use to interact with the people from that new place? The local currency indeed! We mainly are only interested in its commercial value and rarely take our time to enjoy the banknotes designs and history behind it. Therefore, those valuable pieces of paper can also work both like a piece of its history of that place as well what ourselves adopt from its culture.
